WATCH: Leafs fans invade Buffalo and cheer Alex Mogilny's 1,000th NHL point

One of the all-time great Leafs games in recent memory.

Fans of Original 6 franchises like the Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, and Boston Bruins have some of the biggest and most passionate fan bases in their respective sports, with not only a frenzied base in their home cities but nationwide in both the United States and Canada.

One incredible example of how well fans of an Original 6 team can travel came in March of 2004, as the Toronto Maple Leafs battled the Buffalo Sabres at HSBC Arena in what may as well have been a home game for the visiting Leafs.

The teams went back and forth during the game, setting up a dramatic tying goal courtesy of Gary Roberts deflecting Mogilny's shot from the right face-off circle past goaltender Martin Biron with 38 seconds remaining in regulation. The number of Leafs fans in the lower bowl is nothing short of ridiculous:

Of course, the Leafs fans in attendance were cheering once again shortly afterwards thanks to Tomas Kaberle deflecting a pass from Mogilny (point 1,001) to complete the 6-5 comeback victory.
